How translation works
Your text is sent to our server, where Google's Gemini model translates it with full context. The whole passage is read before a single word is written, so pronouns, tone and terminology stay consistent. Markdown, code blocks, emoji, URLs and placeholders are preserved exactly; only natural language is translated. Press Translate or use Ctrl + Enter.
Supported languages
Every language Gemini supports is available — more than eighty are listed directly in the selector, including Arabic, English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Swahili and Persian. Leave the source set to Auto detect and the model will identify the language itself. Right-to-left and left-to-right scripts are detected and rendered with the correct text direction in both panels.
Translation quality
Lisān aims for translations a native speaker would actually write: idiomatic, correctly registered and free of literal calques. Register and politeness level follow the original. For technical or legal material, give the model more context — a full paragraph translates better than an isolated sentence.
Privacy
Nothing you translate is stored on our servers. Text is passed to the model, the translation is returned, and the request ends. Session history lives only in your browser tab and disappears when you close or reload it. There are no accounts and no tracking.
Examples
Short text: a UI label, a message, a headline. Long text: an article or a document of several thousand characters at once. Markdown: headings, lists and tables come back with their structure intact. Code: fenced blocks are copied verbatim while surrounding comments and prose are translated.
Usage limits
Translation runs on paid Google Gemini models, so every request has a real cost. To keep Lisān available to everyone and to keep operating costs predictable, usage is capped at 15 translations per week and 60 per month. Both counters are shown in the workspace along with the time until the next reset. All counters reset at 22:30 Riyadh time (Asia/Riyadh), no matter where you are.
